Open For Midnight

I've really been trying to keep my eyes open for midnight but I'm not sure how much longer I can last.

I Can Get Off The Window Ledge

I can do it, I can get off the window ledge all by myself without even whinging.

And very fast when the motivation is big like it is when The Elf's husband comes in.

Oh yes and The Elf too!

Today Is The Last Day Of The Year

Today is the last day of the year and in some places in the world it's the first day of the year.
Puppynap told me but I think he's talking in riddles as it doesn't make sense, although he's making me watch the fireworks in a place called Australia where he says it's already tomorrow.

Oh my head!

Well it doesn't matter where you are, I wonder where David is? Anyway Happy New Year love from River xxx

In just one second David...

Today It's All Frosty And We're Going Out For A Brisk Walk!

Today it's all frosty and we're going out for a brisk walk!

I think I know where we are going too.

Across the big road...

...which was busy than it looked!

Yep I know where we're going now for sure.

Up Charles Dickens Avenue.

To see Nanny and Granddad.

Then up the big hill.

Back across the surprisingly busy road.

And straight under a gate to have a chat with another doggie. All in all a perfect morning.

I Thought The World Had Snowed

When I woke up this morning everything was covered in white. I thought the world had snowed over the night but Puppynap said it was just frost.

I had to wait ages to come outside, Puppynap said it was too cold for my feet when we got up.

It's still cold for them now!

I've Looked Everywhere!

Everyone went home yesterday. I was expecting other people to come back again today because it has been very busy for a week and I got used to seeing lots of people.

For a bit I thought they were playing a trick on me and everyone was hiding. But they wasn't as I should know I've looked everywhere!

Today Is Boxing Day

Today is Boxing Day, the day after Christmas Day and so it's still Christmas and I have a breakfast of turkey.

As much of it as I can eat. I have missed meat.

And I wonder if I'll have any for dinner today?

Now I've had some again I'm even dreaming of it.

And longing for it.

I think I can smell some new meat being cooked up now. My smell is very strong.

Let me go, LET ME GO I CAN SMELL BEEF!

I've been told I must sit and wait for a dinner surprise.

But I couldn't resist looking up on the table to see if there was any up there. I'm not allowed in the kitchen.

But I keep on sneaking in because I can definitely smell...

...beef and I'm getting a huge bowl full!

After dinner I joined everyone up at the table to talk about the beef and to see if there was any tip-bit left for me.

There wasn't but there was my jumper all set out and that could only mean one thing.

We were going out to look at the lights.

Before we came back in and I begged for some beef. AND I got some!

Hula, Hula River

David was very excited for it to be Christmas Day, he came and woke me up very early, he couldn't wait to open his presents but...

...we had to wait for nanny and granddad to arrive.

...it was a long, long time.

But when they did get here it was worth the wait.

Now let's get on with opening the presents, all this waiting has made me very tired out.

Finally it was time for presents.

Puppynap helped me open mine.

I got lots of treats.

And paper.

And some game thing that Daddy says I would have to do later. He said he thought I would love it.

I didn't know what it was and neither did David but I guess we'll find out later.

Then it was time to cuddle up with nanny.

As Puppynap and Daddy cooked the dinner. Then the surprise of the day happened. A great big bowl of turkey, all for me. It's the first time I've been allowed any meat for months. It smelt lovely.

And tasted even better. David didn't want his so I got to have his as well.

After dinner I joined everyone up on the table. I was hoping to see if they had left any turkey for me but they hadn't.

I had a little after dinner sleep for about 4 hours and then it was time for some more turkey and for me to have a go at my game.

Ooh why they put my head through that?

Hula, hula River.

Very tired, River. Happy Christmas xxx
